We continue to get acquainted with the winners and prize-winners of the XVIII International Forum-Competition for Students and Young Scientists "Actual Problems of Subsoil Use" at St. Petersburg Mining University (read the blitz interview with Elizaveta Mikhailova and Polina Narkhova , as well as Ruslan Nafikov ).
Our next participant Vladislav Ivanov (AVEEIT) is the best graduate student in the field of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Digital Transformation.
Our graduate student took part in the competition in a remote format, since the end of the academic year, according to Vladislav, is a busy time in any educational institution. But to say thanks to the organizers and to share his impressions of participating in the forum, he came to the editorial office personally.
- This is a good example of how international events should be organized: everything is clear, coordinated, and prompt. The day before my performance at the section, a small distance rehearsal was organized. The expert jury asked topical questions on the topic of the presented research. Thanks to simultaneous translation, I got the opportunity to carefully read the reports of participants from abroad. I really hope that next year our correspondence acquaintance will grow into a personal one.
Vladislav Ivanov presented the work "Development of an integral interrogator for a fully optical sensor of small deformations"
- It was an honor for me to represent the department of telecommunication systems and the youth laboratory of the Eurasian REC "Sensor systems based on integrated photonics devices" at the forum of this level, created at USATU with the support of the leadership of the republic and the university.
In the laboratory, we conduct research in photonics and radio electronics, which are focused on obtaining world-class products and ahead of it. At the forum, I presented the results of my work, carried out as part of a large research project, which is being worked on by a team of graduate students and students of the TS department. We are developing an integrated sensor system with high sensitivity and energy efficiency, as well as an unprecedented miniaturization. Our research is focused primarily on the needs of high-tech markets and the solution of key technological challenges facing Russian radio electronics.
Perhaps due to this, the work I presented was highly appreciated by the expert jury of the XVIII International Forum-Competition of Students and Young Scientists "Actual Problems of Subsoil Use".
